Companionship Care at Alpha Home Care is centered on meeting the social needs of our clients. Our companions provide a comprehensive range of services, including:

• Offering socialization, companionship, and emotional support
• Assisting with scheduling and attending physician appointments
• Encouraging walks and engaging in stimulating activities
• Supervising ambulation to prevent falls
• Accompanying clients to doctor's appointments
• Assisting with shopping and running household errands
• Providing hygiene assistance as needed
• Reminding clients to take their medication
• Handling laundry and changing bed linens
• Performing light household tasks such as meal planning/preparation, laundry, and tidying living areas.

At times, a family member may require the expertise of a licensed health professional to address more personal needs. Elderly individuals often find it difficult to accept assistance from family members due to feelings of embarrassment. In such cases, Alpha Home Care can provide support by arranging for a Personal Caregiver (Certified Nursing Assistant) who can assist with all the tasks typically covered under Companion Care, as well as:

• Providing hands-on care such as bathing, dressing, skin, mouth, and hair care
• Monitoring vital signs including temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, as well as fluid intake and output if necessary
• Encouraging walks and engaging in stimulating activities
• Assisting with prescribed range of motion (ROM) exercises
• Aiding in the use of ambulation devices such as wheelchairs or walkers
• Assisting with tasks like changing a colostomy bag or reinforcing dressings as needed.
